A contemporary addition to a 1930s house, the Cube is a stylish brick and glass extension, offering our clients a slice of modern design and a light-filled, open plan living space. Situated in Ormskirk, West Lancashire, this three-bedroom, semi-detached property took on a juxtaposing new aesthetic by knocking through small, functional rooms at the back of the property, transforming them into the new cube-like extension. Simple in form but with many considered details, the Cube brings unexpected modernity to this traditional home.

We’re really pleased with our extension by Wickstead Developments. It has created a room we enjoy as a family during day-to-day living. It’s been 3 years since completion and we continue to love the space and design as much as we did on day one.

A wrap-over frameless glazed skylight and light well allows natural light to flood into the kitchen, mood lighting ensures the space is as enjoyable after dark as it is during daylight hours, and underfloor heating retains warmth. The aluminium bi-folding doors lead to the outside dining space offering the opportunity to admire the Cube's geometric form. Externally, details include its intricate brickwork and the contrasting aluminium trim and rainwater goods which complete the look. The finished result is a conversation-starting design that captures the imagination and pushes the boundaries of a typical extension.
