Award-winning Design.

MAKING AN IDEA A SLEEK AND STYLISH REALITY

Set in picturesque Lathom in the heart of the Lancashire countryside, Needless Inn is a Grade II listed barn which had previously been converted into a contemporary home. We were commissioned to add a sleek, modern and incredibly unique garden room to the property which was to connect with the existing accommodation. This cutting edge, architecturally-designed structure had to respond to the conservation officer's request for 'a total contrast to the existing building' and was actually crowned a winner in the West Lancashire Design Awards 2017.

"It's always very satisfying to help bring an architect's vision to life and our work on Needless Inn is the perfect example of this. An incredibly challenging build with many complex and experimental techniques employed, the result is award-winning and it's a project we're really proud of."
- Paul Wickstead, Wickstead Developments

Our expert team employed specialist materials and building techniques during this stylish project, perfecting features including zinc standing seam roofing, zinc and cedar cladding, solar shading, frameless glazing and bi-folding doors and a glass link offering a light touch where it connects back to the original brickwork. Inside, the garden room benefits from a Bang & Olufsen entertainment system which fills the room with unrivalled quality sound and vision, as well as a stylish free standing log burner and premium stone tiles laid over cosy underfloor heating. A project our craftsmen loved working on, we are delighted with the results of the Needless Inn's extension and very proud to have worked on this award-winning design.
