CLEAN GEOMETRIC FORM WITH ALL-IMPORTANT ATTENTION-TO-DETAIL
Sometimes an extension can really transform a house, which is exactly what we found with our work on the Cube. Situated in the market town of Ormskirk in West Lancashire, this 1930s three-bedroom semi-detached property took on a dramatic transformation with the addition of a brick and glass cube-like extension. Simple in form yet full of detail, the client's brief was realised when several of the small, functional rooms at the back of the property were knocked through into the new extension to create a light and airy open plan living space for all the family to enjoy.
"We're really pleased with our extension by Wickstead Developments. It has created a room we enjoy as a family during day-to-day living. It's been 3 years since completion and we continue to love the space and design as much as we did on day one."- Nicola & Steve Robertson
A wrap over frameless glazed skylight and light well allows natural light to flood into the kitchen area, making it the perfect place for our cooking enthusiast clients. Mood lighting was installed to ensure the space was as enjoyable after dark as it was during daylight hours, and cosy underfloor heating completes the scene for stylish entertaining. Step out through the aluminium bi-folding doors into the outside dining space and admire the Cube's simple geometric form, its detailed brickwork and the contrasting aluminium trim and rainwater goods which finishes its look so perfectly. Sometimes simplicity - along with top quality workmanship - really is the key to an incredibly stylish home.
